Now place a Color 2  3-1/2" square lined up with and right sides together on one end of a Color 1 rectangle. Mark the diagonal on the back of the top square, and sew ON this marked line. Cut off excess seam allowance, press remainder towards the side triangle. Repeat this with another square on the the end of the rectangle. Make four of these... 

Sew together three Color 2 half square triangles as shown at left. Make two of these units...

Then sew a Color 1  3-1/2" square to the left end of an inverted flying geese unit. Press seam allowance towards the flying geese unit. Make two of these...

Sew the next flying geese unit to the left side of a Color 1 half square triangle. Press seam allowance towards the flying geese unit. Make two of these...

Now sew the flying geese/square unit to the top of the flying geese/half square triangle unit. Make two of these...

Next sew a half square triangles strip to the bottom edge of the unit (s) just completed. Make two of these...

Then sew a half square to the right side of the previous unit, sewing from the outer edge  to within 1/4" of the other edge. Press seam towards the half square. Make two of these...

Now place the two half blocks right sides together. Sew from the left edge to within 1/4" of the edge of that face. With the needle still down...on to Page 3!
