** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** 

Start by marking and cutting the Color 1  6" x 12" rectangle into twenty-four 1-1/2"squares...

Then mark and cut the Color 2   6" x 7-1/2" rectangle into twenty 1-1/2" squares...

Cut the Color 2  3" x 7" strip into four 1-1/2" x 3-1/2"(A) rectangles. Cut the Color 2  3" x 11" strip into four 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" (B) rectangles. Cut the Color 2  3" x 15" strip into four 1-1/2" x 7-1/2" (C) rectangles...

Sew two Color 1 and one Color 2 square together using a 1/4" seam as shown at far left. Press seams to dark sides. Make two units like this and sew them to the left and right of the Color 1  3-1/2" square. Press seams out...

Now sew two Color 1 squares and three Color 2 squares together as shown at top left. Press seams to dark sides. Make two units like that and sew them to the top and bottom of the center unit. Press seams out...

Next sew Color 1 squares to the ends of a Color 2 A rectangle. Press seams to dark sides. Make two units like this and sew them to the left and right of the center unit. Press seams out...on to Page 2!
