This makes a 9" or 12" block !  The pattern is written for 12" blocks. (9" strip sizes are in parenthesis)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Next cut the Color 1  3-1/4" x 6-1/2"  (2-3/4" x 5-1/2") strip into two 3-1/4" (2-3/4) squares. Stack the squares and cut them on both diagonals to make eight quarter square triangles (You only need six for this block)...

Now cut the Color 2  2-1/2" x 5" (2" x 4") strip into two 2-1/2" (2") squares...

Then cut the Color 3  3-1/4" (2-3/4") square in half on both diagonals to make four quarter square triangles...

Now cut the Color 3  2-7/8" x 5-3/4" (2-3/8" x 4-3/8") strip into two 2-7/8" (2-3/8) squares. Stack the squares and cut them once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles...

Next cut the Color 4  3-1/4" (2-3/4") square in half on both diagonals to make four quarter square triangles...

Then cut the Color 4  2-7/8" x 5-3/4" (2-3/8" x 4-3/8") strip into two 2-7/8" (2-3/8) squares. Stack the squares and cut them once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles...on to Page 2!
