This pattern doesn't make an actual block. Instead it is a pattern that repeats for as long as you would like it to! For reference, the amount of it shown at right covers a FINISHED 6-1/2"...

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

 

First cut the eight Color 1 octagons from the 2" x 20" strip using the template provided...

 

Then cut your Color 2 octagons from the 2" x 10" strip using the template provided... 

 

 

Next cut the nine 1" Color 3 small squares from the 1" x 9" strip...

 

 

Then cut four 1-1/2 Color 3 larger squares from a 1- 1/2" x 6" strip...

Sew a Color 3 small square to each end of a Color 1 octagon, right sides together. Press seams towards the octagons. Use all 1/4" seams! Add another octagon to the right of the unit just made, and then another square to the right of that...on to Page 2!
