This makes a 9" block and is paper pieced !

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Mighty Star! You will need to print out one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You will also need four 3-1/2" squares of background fabric. Fat Quarters will be fine!
After your units are paper pieced, lay them out with the background squares as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows, then join those rows to complete the block!

Here are four blocks by three with a mock Delectable Mountains border and Log Cabin corners! The Little Star block that packs a Wallop as a quilt, hence it's name! :o)
