This is an original design. :o)  Please use it  to show your spirit, and to comfort your family and friends!

Note that this pattern makes a whole quilt, so the yardages given are for the whole she-bang! It uses mostly block patterns found elsewhere on The Quilter's Cache, so there are links to those. The Flag Block Pattern is included here!

"Flag" ... You will need two of these blocks! Instructions for this block follow...

Sew a 6 1/2" blue square to the left end of the four strip unit. Make two of these...

Join four 2" x 18 1/2" strips in the same manner as you joined strips above. Make two of these. Sew each of the longer strip units to a shorter strip/blue square unit. This will give you two flag blocks...

Here is a photo of just the Flags, done by Sharyl as placemats!

I urge you to really make this quilt your own ! Substitute a variety of reds, tans or blues ...substitute any other 12" blocks you like for the 12" blocks I show ...Go wild! and Have Fun with it! Now, make your blocks ...and then Let's start piecing this puppy!

Place a 2 1/2" tan square atop the right end of a red 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" strip, right sides together. On the back of the small square, lightly mark the diagonal, and sew on this marked line. Cut of the excess seam allowance, and press the remainder towards the darker fabric. Make fourteen of these...
