Next sew the Color 1 and Color 3  2" x 16" strips right sides together along one long edge. Press seam to darker side. Cut this at 2" intervals, making eight pieced units...

 

 

Sew together pairs of pieced strips to make four Four Patch units...

 

Next, sew a tall triangle to each side of a wide triangle to make the side units. Press seams towards the side triangles. Make four units like this, trimming them to measure 3-1/2" if needed. Again, be sure to leave the 1/4" seam that extends past the point of the wide triangle, so it doesn't get cut off when you sew this to the block...

 

 

Now lay out all of the units as shown at left. Sew three horizontal seams, pressing seams in alternating directions by row. Join the rows to complete the block! ...on to Page 3!
