The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Fireplace Block! You will need to print out one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. Fat Quarters will be plenty!

After your units are paper pieced lay them all out as shown at left. Sew the top three units together to form the chimney top. Sew the bottom units together to form the fireplace bottom. Sew small black round buttons to the mantle front for "hooks", and, using embroidery floss, make a "loop" for each stocking, and hang those over the hooks!

No quilt to show, but this will go well with other Holiday themed blocks!

Happy Quilting All!...and thanks to Vicky for inspiring me to do this!
