This makes a 15" block! I show it  also in yellows and reds, so you can compare its appearance to the Irish Chain  and the Triple Irish Chain! :o)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

 

 

First sew together two Color 1, two Color 2 and one Color 3  2" x 8" strips as shown at left, using all SCANT 1/4" seams. Alternate pressing directions for seam allowances. Mark and cut this new unit apart at 2" intervals...

 

Then sew together three Color 1 and  two Color 2   2" x 8" strips as shown at left, using all SCANT 1/4" seams. Alternate pressing directions for seam allowances. Mark and cut this new unit apart at 2" intervals...

 

Next sew together two Color 1, one Color 2 and two Color 3  2" x 4" strips as shown at left, using all SCANT 1/4" seams. Alternate pressing directions for seam allowances. Mark and cut this new unit apart at 2" intervals...

 

Now sew together two Color 1  2" x 8" strips and one Color 3  5" x 8" strip as shown at left, using all SCANT 1/4" seams. Press allowances towards the darker fabrics. Mark and cut this new unit apart at 2" intervals...on to Page 2!
