The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Christmas Runner 2003 block! You will need to print out two copies of the template pages per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You will also need one 3-1/2" center square of green. A Fat Quarter of each fabric should be plenty!

After your units are paper pieced join the corner units. Sew three horizontal rows. Join the rows, and it's done!

Four blocks with 9-3/8" half square triangles make the runner! Bind and quilt as desired! For placemats, sew 2-1/2" x 12-1/2" strips to the left and right of the blocks, then quilt and bind as desired!

Happy Quilting Folks!
