This makes a 7" block and is paper piecing!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try the Altar Steps! You will need to print out four copies of the corner unit, one copy of the long rectangle, and two copies of the short rectangle per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. A FQ of each is enough!

When you get done paper piecing the corner units, piece the whole block by making rows as shown at left! As always, use SCANT 1/4" seams! There You Go! One set of Stairs, with nary a Nail!

The quilt, in my unquestionably biased opinion, would make a GREAT wedding quilt!

Happy Quilting Folks!

Here's one that Jan made!
