This makes a 9" or 12" block ! The pattern is written for 12" blocks. (9" strip sizes are in parenthesis) |

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Cut the Color 1 3-1/4" x 6-1/2" (2-3/4"
x 5-1/2") strip into two 3-1/4" (2-3/4)
squares. Stack the squares and cut them in half on both diagonals to
make eight quarter square triangles...
Cut the Color 1 5-1/4" (4-1/4") square in half on both diagonals to make four large quarter square triangles (You only need two for this block)... Cut the Color 1 4-7/8" (3-7/8") square once on the diagonal to make two half square triangles ... Cut the Color 1 2-1/2" x 17-1/2" (2" x 14") strip into seven 2-1/2" (2") squares... |

Cut the Color 4 5-1/4" (4-1/4") square in half on both diagonals to make four large quarter square triangles (You only need two for this block)... |
