** Preparing the Pieces **

First mark and cut the Color 1  5" x 17-1/2" strip into fourteen 2-1/2" squares...

Next cut the Color 1  4-7/8" square in half on the diagonal...

Now mark and cut the Color 3  2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares...

 

Then cut the Color 1  2-7/8" square in half on the diagonal to make two half square triangles. You will only need one for this block. Mark and cut the Color 3  2-7/8" x 8-5/8" strip into three 2-7/8" squares. Stack and cut these squares on the diagonal to make six half square triangles. You will only need five for this block...

Sew the Color 1 and Color 2  1-1/2" x 33" strips right sides together along one long edge, using  a 1/4" seam. Press seam towards darker fabric. Mark and cut this two color unit at 1-1/2" intervals to make twenty-two units...on to Page 2!
