** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

From Color 1 cut one strip 2-1/2"  x 8-1/2", one strip 2-1/2" x 5"--cut in half to make two 2-1/2" squares, one strip 2-1/2" x 18"-- cut into four 2-1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles, one strip 2-1/2" x 26"--cut into four 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles, one strip 2-1/2" x 16-1/2", and one strip 4-1/2" x 9"--cut into two 4-1/2" squares...

From Color 2 cut one strip 2-1/2" x 9"--cut into two 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles, one strip 2-1/2" x 15"--cut into six 2-1/2" squares, one strip 4-1/2" x 9" --cut into two 4-1/2" squares. 

From Color 3 cut one strip 2-1/2" x 10"--cut into four 2-1/2" squares...

From Color 4 cut one strip 2-1/2" x 20" --cut into eight 2-1/2" squares... 

From Color 5 cut one strip 2-7/8" x 5-3/4" --do NOT cut this one further at this time, one strip 2-1/2" x 10" --cut into four 2-1/2" squares...

From Color 6 cut one strip 2-1/2" x 33" --cut into two strips 2-1/2" x 16-1/2", one strip 2-1/2" x 20-1/2", one strip 5" x 22-1/2" -- cut into eighteen 2-1/2" squares, one strip 4-1/2" x 17" --cut into two 4-1/2" x 8-1/2" rectangles, one strip 5" x 36" --cut into sixteen 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles, and one strip 2-7/8" x 5-3/4" --do NOT cut this one further at this time...
