Now...finally ...Piece the block, by sewing together
the rows we just made!!
Use black embroidery floss to make Satin Stitched eyes, and a (black) embroidered Backstitch mouth and nose-line to complete the faces! |

The quilt would be just right for some small lad or lassie...or me! It's just four blocks sewn together with edge units added to complete the stars and O's. *I show the side and top/bottom units below! Add a 3" border of Color 4 and you have an approx. 62" x 62" quilt --great for a wall, lap or kid wrapping!

Some extra border info! This is the top and bottom unit, each made using eight small squares in Color 4 and four small squares in Color 6, two Color 6 20-1/2" strips, and two Color 6 16-1/2" strips. Sew those to the top and bottom of your four-bear quilt top, then add: |

... the side units, each made using twelve small squares in Color 4-- and twelve small squares in Color 6-- ten Color 6 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles-- two Color 6 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" rectangles-- four Color 5 small squares, and four half squares. Then add a solid border to the whole thing, if you wish! |
