Next sew the Color 1 and Color 2  1-1/2" x 18" strips right sides together along one long edge, using a 1/4" seam. Press seam to darker side. Mark and cut this at 4-1/2" intervals...

Now lay out all the units as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows, pressing the seams from the top and bottom rows to the center and the middle row seam to the outside...and This Magic Box is done!

The quilt, shown here on its side,  is twelve Magic Box blocks with alternating plain blocks, side setting triangles and corner setting triangles surrounded by a pieced stripe border, then a plain border and binding!
