** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by measuring and cutting the Color 1  2-7/8" x 23" strip into eight 2-7/8" squares. Cut these once on the diagonal to make 16 half square triangles...

Next cut the eight 2-7/8" calico squares once on the diagonal to make sixteen of these...

Then  stack and cut the Color 2 and Color 3   6-7/8" squares once on the diagonal. Each block you make will only need ONE triangle of each of these colors, but you can save the remaining two to use in another scrap project :o)...

Sew each of the Color 1 triangles to one of the Calico triangles, right sides together, using a 1/4" seam. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabrics. Trim to measure 2-1/2" if needed...

Then sew a Color 2 and a Color 3 large triangle together, right sides together, using a 1/4" seam. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabrics. Trim to measure 6-1/2" if needed...on to Page 2!
