Now join the block, by making the units to the left! Sew together two groups of three half squares and attach these to the top and bottom of the center half square. Sew together two groups of five half squares, and attach these to the sides. Refer to the diagram at left for placement and direction of the half squares!

When making a quilt, you may have all the blocks the same, or you can rearrange placement of the smaller half squares around the center half square with each block. This also makes a TERRIFIC scrap quilt!!
