This makes an 18" block!

Please abide by the Terms and Conditions of use! :o)

What a versatile block it is too! I show several layout ideas at the bottom of the page :o)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First sew a Color 2  1-1/2" x 26" strip, right sides together,  to the Color 1  4-1/2" x 26" strip along one long edge, using the ever true SCANT 1/4" seam. Press seam allowance towards the darker fabric. Add the other Color 2 long strip to the bottom edge if this unit, pressing seam allowance towards the darker fabric. Mark off at 6-1/2" increments, and cut, using a rotary cutter and ruler...

Next mark and cut the Color 1  5-1/4" x 21" strip into four 5-1/4" squares...

Be sure to sew this  quilt with all scant 1/4" seams!

Cut each 5-1/4" square once on the diagonal...

Press each triangle in half to find the half way point of their long sides. Press a Color 2  9-1/2" x 2" strip in half end to end to find it's halfway mark. Now sew the Color 2 strip to each triangle, after matching half ways points. Leave the ends long for now. Repeat this with the other three Color 1  5-1/4" squares...

Cut this unit in half on the diagonal, using a rotary cutter and ruler...
