Then mark and cut the Color 2  6" x 24" strip into sixteen 3" squares...

Next sew a Color 1 and a Color 2   3" x 24" strip right sides together along one long edge using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seam to darker side. Mark and cut this at 3" intervals. Sew these pieced square units together to make four Four Patch units as shown at lower left...

Next sew a Color 1 and a Color 3   3" x 24" strip right sides together along one long edge using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seam to darker side. Mark and cut this at 3" intervals. Sew these pieced square units together to make four Four Patch units as shown at lower left...

Then sew together a Color 2 and a Color 3  3" x 33" strip right sides together along one long edge using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seam to darker side. Mark and cut this at 5-1/2" intervals. Make TWO units like this (only shown once) for a total of twelve pieced rectangle units...

Next place a 3" Color 2 square right sides together and outside edges aligned against the upper left corner of a Color 1  5-1/2" square. On the back of the small square draw in the diagonal in the direction shown at left. Sew ON this marked line. Cut off the excess seam allowance, pressing the remainder out towards the triangle. Repeat this with another small square on the opposite corner of the Color 1 square, and then on the two remaining corners. Make four units like this...on to Page 2!
