** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First cut the Color 1  2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares...

Then stack and  cut the Color 1   3-3/4" squares on the diagonal to make four half square triangles...

Now cut the Color 1  2-1/2" x 18" strip into four 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles...

Next cut the Color 3  2-1/2" x 20" strip into eight 2-1/2" squares...

Then cut the Color 3  4-7/8" x 9-3/4" strip into two 4-7/8" squares, and cut these again on the diagonal, to make four half square triangles ...

Start by sewing the Color 1 half square triangles to each side of the Color 2  4-1/2" square. Sew to two opposing sides first, and then to the other two opposing sides. Use a SCANT 1/4" seam! ...and press seam allowances in opposing directions!...on to Page 2
