This makes a little 4" x 2 1/2" toad, to be appliqued against any background of your choosing!

As with many applique patterns, fabric choice is going to be everything with this Toad! The print I used here is a Maywood fabric made to look like small brown stones...to me, this said, "Toad Skin"! Look for some nice mottled browns for this block! You may FUSE this toad, in which case just use the templates as they are and fuse fabrics in place... or use needle turn applique. You'll need to add seam allowances to the templates for needle turn.

First lay out all of your pieces against whatever background you have chosen. When you are satisfied with the arrangement, remove all but the left legs and the belly piece. Pin this on, and applique in place using thread to match the belly, and the legs...

Next pin on the body piece (cut out as all one piece) slightly overlapping the belly. Tuck the little right hand black eye piece under the right hand eyelid. Pin these down and applique in place using threads to match...

Now pin on and applique the left hand eyelid piece using thread to match the eyelid...on to Page 2!
