This makes a 15" block, is paper pieced and is a mid 1940's pattern!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Thorny Thicket Block! You will need to print out two copies of the template A and B pages, and one copy of the template C page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. Fat Quarters will be fine!

After your units are pieced, join the center sixteen patch pieces, then lay out all the units as shown at left. Sew horizontal rows, pressing row seams in alternating directions. Piece the three rows to finish the block!

The quilt is four blocks by five, with a pieced  border, then a checkerboard border!

Happy Quilting All!
