Then sew the trapezoid units to opposite sides of the diagonal unit... |

Place a small Color 2 square right sides together against one corner of a Color 1 2-1/2" square. On the back of the small square, draw in the diagonal, and sew on this drawn line. Cut off the excess seam allowance, pressing the remainder towards the square. Repeat this with another small Color 2 square on the adjacent corner as shown at center left. Make four units like this.... |

Now make two of each of the units shown at left for the block's sides and top and bottom... |

Piece the block by sewing the side units to the center unit, and then adding the top and bottom rows! |
