** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** 

First mark and cut the Color 1 rectangle into twenty 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" rectangles...

Next, mark and cut the Color 2   1-1/2" x 24" strip into sixteen 1-1/2" squares...

Then mark and cut the Color 3  2-1/2" x 12-1/2" strip into five 2-1/2" squares...

Now mark and cut the Color 3  2-1/2" x 14" strip into four 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" rectangles...

 

 

As always using 1/4" seams sew a Color 2  1-1/2" square to each end of eight Color 1 rectangles...

 

 

Next sew a Color 1 rectangle to each side of  four Color 3 squares...

 

 

Piece the corner units by sewing the Color1/Color2 strips to the top and bottom of the four Color1/Color3 units we just made...

 

 

Sew the last four Color 1 rectangles to one end of each Color 2 rectangle...on to Page 2!
