This makes a 6" block and is paper pieced !

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Star of Destiny! You will need to print out two copies of the template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. Fat quarters will be fine!
 

Sew together the block's two center square pieces. Next lay the top left larger unit right sides together atop the center square. Stitch from the left edge to a point 1/4" from the end of the square. Backstitch to secure. 

Now add the lower left unit...

Than add the lower right unit...on to Page 2!
