** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Using the templates provided, cut four rectangles and four triangles from Color 1...

 

Cut eight parallelograms and one square from Color 2...

 

Cut four trapezoids and four side triangles from Color 3...
Using a 1/4" seam (now and throughout the project) sew Color 3 traps to the Color 1 triangles, pressing seams towards the darker side. Make four of these...

Sew the parallelograms together in pairs. Make four of these. Place a Color 3 side triangle right sides together against the lower leg of the parallelogram unit as shown second left. Stitch from the bottom edge to a point 1/4" from the point. Backstitch to secure. Now fold and pivot the unit right sides together to line up the remaining un-sewn triangle/parallelogram edge and stitch from the previous stopping point to the edge, backstitching one stitch at the beginning of the seam to secure. Make four units like this...on to Page 2!
