** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by marking and cutting the Color 1  2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares...

Then, using the template provided above, trace and cut out eight trapezoids from the Color 2  5" x 14" strip...

Now, using the triangle template, trace and cut out four triangles from Color 4...

Sew a Color 4 triangle to the slant edge of one trapezoid, right sides together, using a 1/4" seam. Press the seam allowance towards the darker fabric. Sew another trapezoid to the other side of the triangle, pressing the seam allowance again towards the darker fabric. Make four of these units. Sew a Color 1 square to each end of  two of these units, pressing seam allowances towards the trapezoids...

Sew two of the previously made units to the right and left of the Color 3 center square. Press seam allowances towards the square...

Then sew the two previously made trapezoid units with squares added to the top and bottom of the center unit. Press seam allowances towards center...and That's the Block! Good Job!! :o)
