The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Square and Star! You will need to print out two copies of the template A page, and one of the B page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You also will need one light blue and one dark blue 1-1/2" x 8-1/2" strip, one light blue and one dark blue 1-1/2" x 10-1/2" strip, and four white 2-1/2" squares. Fat Quarters will be fine!

Once your units are paper pieced, sew the center star unit shown at left. Then add the shorter strips to the sides of that, and then the longer strips to the top and bottom. Done! :o)

The side strips give this one an "Almost Attic Windows" look!

Happy Quilting Folks!
