Using the half square units we made and eight of the Color 1  1-1/2" squares, sew eight of the units shown at top left. Sew one of the pieced units from the step above between two of the half square units we just made to make a corner unit for the block. Make a total of four corner units...

 

Then sew the last Color 1  1-1/2" square , and the two Color 2  1-1/2" squares to make one pieced unit. Sew that unit between the last two pieced units from above...

Lay out all units as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows, alternating pressing direction by row. Join the rows to complete your block!

Here on its side is a quilt made of four blocks by five with pieced sashing strips and simple plain borders with Nine Patch cornerstones!
