** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Stack the Color 1 and Color 2  3-7/8" x 31" strips right sides together and all edges aligned. Cut at 3-7/8" intervals to make eight square-pairs. Keeping the squares right sides together and edges aligned, lightly draw in the diagonals on the backs of the top squares. Stitch 1/4" away from the drawn line on each side. Cut apart ON the drawn line between the rows of stitching. Each square-pair will give you two half squares. Press to dark side. These should measure 3-1/2". Make a total of sixteen of these half squares...

Now lay out all your half squares, and using a scant 1/4" seam sew the four rows shown at left. Alternate pressing directions by row. Join those rows to complete your Pinwheel # 7 block!...on to Page 2!
