** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by marking and cutting the Color 2  3-7/8" x 7-3/4" strip into two 3-7/8" squares. Stack and cut these again on the diagonal to make four half square triangles. You will only need three of them for this block...

Then mark and cut the Color 3  3-7/8" x 19-3/8" strip into five 3-7/8" squares. Stack and cut these again on the diagonal to make ten half square triangles...

Now mark and cut the Color 3  3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares...

Next mark and cut the Color 5  3-1/2" x 7"strip into two 3-1/2" squares...

Then mark and cut the Color 5  3-1/2" x 22" strip into two rectangles, one measuring 3-1/2" x 12-1/2", the other measuring 3-1/2" x 9-1/2"...

First sew a Color 3 half square triangle to the left end of the 3-1/2" x 12-1/2" Color 5 rectangle, right sides together, and using a 1/4" seam. Press seam allowance towards the rectangle. Add another Color 3 triangle to the first, pressing seam allowance towards the first triangle...

Repeat the last step with the other Color 5 rectangle and two more Color 3 triangles...
