The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a New Star! You will need to print out two copies of the template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper.( Four copies for the 12" version) You also need one 2-1/2" green square, or 3" for the 12" version. Fat Quarters will be fine!

After all units are paper pieced, join pairs of triangle units to make the block's four corner units. Now lay out all the units with the extra green square in the center. Sew three horizontal rows, and then join those rows to finish the block!

Here's a simple little wall hanging of just four blocks!

Happy Quilting!
