This makes a 12" block!

This one's a tad trickier than some, involving a few set in seams, but follow the directions carefully, and it's still do-able!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Print off the templates, cut out the pieces; transfer to template material, add 1/4" seam allowances all around to each of the pieces needed and then cut out your usable templates!

Start by sewing the B and BRev pieces together in pairs, using SCANT 1/4" seams. Stop sewing at a point 1/4" from the inner edge of the "V" where they come together. Make eight pairs. In the "V" of each pair, set in an F piece, sewing right sides together. Sew from the other edge to a point 1/4" from the point of the "V". Keep needle down in fabric...

Then fold the unit over towards you, swinging the remaining un sewn side of the F piece up 'til it lines up with the un sewn side of the BRev piece. Stitch to edge. Do this with all of the B/BRev pairs...

Now sew an A square to the left side of the previously made unit, again sewing from the outer edge to a point 1/4" from the lower edge. Sew another B/BRev unit to the bottom of the A square, sewing again from the outer edge in to a point 1/4" from the edge of the square. Keep the needle down in the fabric...

Fold the unit over towards you and line up the two un sewn edges of the B and BRev pieces. Stitch from the 1/4" point where you left off, to the edge. Make four units like this...

To the corner of each of the previously made four units, sew on an E triangle...   now on to Page 2          Page3
