To piece the center, sew the Color 3  1-1/2" square to the bottom left end of a Color 2 small rectangle, pressing seam towards the rectangle. Now add, counterclockwise, a Color 1 rectangle, another Color 2 rectangle, and lastly, another Color 1 rectangle, stopping that last seam 1/4" from the end of the rectangle. Now fold the top section of this unit down, right sides together, and stitch the remainder of that least seam from the center out to the outer edge...

Lay out all the units as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows, pressing the top and bottom rows to the center, and the middle row to the outside. Sew together the three rows to complete the block!
