This makes a 10" block, and is a 1920's-30's era pattern !

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Using the template provided cut out twelve petal shapes from the Color 1  5" x 15" strip, adding 1/8"- 3/16" seam allowances as you do this...

Next mark and cut the Color 2  2-1/2" x 12-1/2" strip into five 2-1/2" squares...

Now mark and cut the Color 3  5" x 10" strip into eight 2-1/2" squares. Mark and cut the Color 3  5" x 13" strip into four 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles...

Using a scant 1/4" seam, sew together the center nine patch as shown at left, pressing all seams to the darker sides( shown in smaller scale here)...

Now piece the block as shown at far left. Pin on and appliqué the petal shapes using threads to match the petals. Once this is done, so are you! :o)
