Then sew a Color 1 rectangle to the left side of a half square. Press seam allowance towards the half square. Add a Color1rect/Color1square combo strip to the bottom of that. Press seam allowance towards the rectangle unit. Make two corner units like this...

Next piece the block, by sewing the units together as shown in the diagram at left. Press seam allowances in alternating directions with each addition to avoid bulky seams.

This quilt is just four blocks by five...with a thin Color 2 border for definition, and a slightly wider Color 1 Border... :o) Easy, yet elegant looking!
