This makes a 6" block, and is paper pieced!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Guiding Star! You will need to print one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. A fat quarter of each fabric should be plenty!

After all units are paper pieced, join the center two units as shown at left. Then piece the block, but making rows, then sewing those rows together!

This wall hanging would measure about 30" square...it's four blocks by four blocks, with various gold prints as corner colors and as stars, surrounded by a very narrow border strip, then a slightly wider border.

Happy Quilting Folks!
