Be sure to add 3/16" seam allowances to these if you will be hand appliquéing or turning under edges! |

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
| Fabric choice will be everything for this one! Make it "Folksy!" I suggest a nice plaid for the feathers, two tan plaids for the background and a brick red and gold for the circles! Print off the templates provided and transfer to freezer paper to make your pieces, following the Appliqué Instructions. If you prefer, you can fuse and Button hole appliqué these! |

Cut the Color 2 and Color 3 4-1/2" x 9" strips into two 4-1/2" squares of each... |

Sew the squares together to make a background four patch square using scant 1/4" seams... |

Pin on feathers and appliqué to background using thread to match feather fabric, or fuse in place. Pin on brick red circles and appliqué in place using thread to match circles, or fuse in place... |
