Five Star Block - Page 2

Now sew the two Color 3  2" x 16" and one Color 2  3-1/2" x 16" strip together along the long edges as shown at far left. Press seam to darker sides and cut this apart at 3-1/2" intervals...

Now lay out the pieces need for each nine patch as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows, using a scant 1/4" seam. These should measure 6-1/2". Trim if needed. You will be making four nine patches like this...

Now lay out all the completed stars and nine patches. Sew three horizontal rows, again using that scant 1/4" seam. Press the row seams of the top and bottom rows to the center and the middle row seams to the outside. Join the rows, and that's one Five Star Block!

The quilt is four blocks by five, with a simple Color 2 border!
