To sew the block's middle unit, sew one pair of each of the pieced triangles I show at left. Again, use a scant 1/4" seam, and press to the dark side... |

Sew the last two Color 2 side triangles to the sides of the center square, again pressing to the dark side with each... |

Join the pieced triangles of the middle row to the center square unit.
Square this off to measure 6-1/2" x 12-12". Sew the side
units to the center unit...and there's one Empire Star Block!
There was a time when almost ALL piecing was done with templates...this is a good skill to possess! ...on to Page 3! |
