This makes an 8" x 11-1/3" block!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First cut the Color 2  2-7/8" square in half diagonally to make two half square triangles...

Then cut the Color 1  6-7/8" square twice diagonally to make four quarter square triangles. You will only need one per mountain...
   

Now speed piece the half squares by stacking the Color 2 and Color 3  2-7/8" x 8-5/8" strips right sides together. Lightly draw the 2- 7/8" square lines and mark the diagonals on the back of the top strip. Now sew a scant 1/4" above and below the marked diagonals, pivoting at the square lines. Cut apart ON the marked diagonals and on the square lines. This will give you six half squares. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabrics. Trim to measure 2-1/2" if needed...on to Page 2!
