First mark and cut the Color 1  1-1/2" x 7-1/2" strip into five 1-1/2" squares. Then mark and cut the Color 1  1-1/2" x 14"strip into four 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" rectangles...

Now mark and cut the Color 2  1-1/2" x 6" strip into five 1-1/2" squares. Mark and cut the Color 2  3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2"squares...

Next speed piece the half squares, by stacking the Color 1 and Color 2  1-7/8" x 3-3/4" strips, right sides together and all edges aligned. On the back of the top strip, lightly mark the 1-7/8" square line and mark the diagonals in the direction shown at left. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabric. Trim these back to measure 1-1/2" if needed...

Next sew together the two Color 2 and one Color 1  1-1/2" x 12" strips along the long edges as shown at left. press seams to dark side. Mark and cut this at 1-1/2" intervals to make eight pieced sections...

Sew a Color 1 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" rectangle between pairs of the pieced units we just made. Press seams towards the rectangle. Trim this back to measure 3-1/2" if needed. Make four units like this...

Place a Color 1 square, right sides together aligned on top of one end of a Color 2 3-1/2" square. Mark the diagonal on the wrong side of the small square and sew on that line. Cut off the excess and press remainder towards triangle. Trim this back to measure 3-1/2" if needed. Make four units like this...
