This makes a 12" block! A 1900 block!

It's great for baby, as shown here, but also a nice block for other quilts!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Cut the Color 1  3-1/2" x 21" strip into six 3-1/2" squares. Cut the Color 1  3-7/8" square in half on the diagonal to make two half square triangles...

Then cut the Color 2  3-1/2" x 10-1/2" strip into three 3-1/2" squares. Cut the Color 2  7" x 13" strip into four 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles. Cut the Color 2  6-7/8" square in half on the diagonal to make two half square triangles. You only need ONE of these for one block...

First sew two pairs of Color 1/Color 2 squares together, using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabric...

Then join these units to make the center four patch square, again using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seam to one side...
