Now use half squares and Color 3 rectangles to make two of the units shown at left...

 

 

Then  use the last two Color 3 rectangles and the Color 2  4-1/2" square to make one of the units shown at left...

 

 

Piece these rectangle units as shown at left to complete the center portion of the block...

 

Next add the shorter half square strip units to the left and right of the center unit. Then to finish up, add the longer half square strip units to the top and bottom! Good Job! :o)

What's with those SCANT 1/4" seams???

Each time we press over a seam allowance, a teeny bit of fabric is used up in the fold-over...using a SCANT 1/4" seam (a couple threads less than a full 1/4") helps to compensate for the block width lost in your pressing! :o)
