This makes a 10" block! The challenge for the week, is to take a color you wouldn't ordinarily be drawn to, and USE IT! :o)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

 

 

First cut the Color 1  1-1/2" x 12" strip into eight 1-1/2" squares...

 

Then cut the Color 1  10" x 10" square into sixteen 2-1/2" squares...

 

 

Now cut the Color 2  3" x 12" strip into sixteen 1-1/2" squares...

 

 

Lastly, mark and cut the Color 3  2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares...

 

Place a Color 2 small square right sides together against the top right corner of a Color 1  2-1/2" square. On the back of the small square, lightly draw the diagonal, and sew ON this marked line. Cut off the excess seam allowance. Press the remainder towards the square. Make eight units like this...on to Page 2!
