Sew the one of the shorter of the four units we just made to the left side of a Color 2 larger square, pressing seam out towards the pieced strip. Sew a longer pieced unit to the top, again pressing seam out towards the pieced strip. Make two units like this...

 Now sew the four completed units together to make the block, pressing row seams in alternating directions!

 Here are four blocks by four...note that the construction of the four quadrants of some blocks is reversed...:o)
