This makes a 9" block and is paper pieced!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Washington Star! You will need to print out one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. A Fat Quarter of each fabric should be plenty!

After your units are paper pieced, join them into three vertical rows as shown at left. Sew the rows together...and it's a block!

This wall hanging would be about 32" square, and boasts alternate blocks that mimic the smaller stars :o) Hope you like it!!
