Then sew a Color1/Color 4 Half/Quarter Square to the bottom of a Color 1 square, pressing seam to one side. Sew a  Flying Geese unit to the right side of that. Press seam to one side...

Next sew a Color1/Color 4 Half/Quarter Square to the right of a Color 1 square, pressing seam to one side. Sew a  Flying Geese unit to the bottom of that. Press seam to one side...

Now sew a Color 2  2-1/2" (2") square to a Color 4/Color 5 Half/ Quarter Square, pressing seam to one side. Then sew a Color 4/Color 5 Half/ Quarter Square to a Color 5  2-1/2" (2") square, again pressing seam to one side. Join these two units...

 

Now lay out All the units as shown. Sew three horizontal rows, pressing the top and bottom row seams to the outside, and the middle row seam to the center. Join the rows, and Ellen's Star is done!
