The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try an Uneven Star! You will need to print out one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You also need four 3-1/2" corner squares in random tan plaids.

After your units are paper pieced, lay them out as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows, pressing the top and bottom row seams to the outside, and the middle row seams to the center. Join the rows and you've finished the block! Great Job!

Here are three blocks by three with simple sashings and cornerstones!
